Police Officer Pogan, who tackled a bicyclist in Times Square, has been fired.
Here’s the the story in the Times.
A friend of mine has claimed that there’s “more to the story” and that the officer was specifically trying to stop thisbicyclist. I don’t buy it. If that had been the case, he would have said something about it in his arrest report.
Here’s the officer’s lie-filled arrest report, from The Smoking Gun.
I just found your blog via Carlos Miller. I’ve often said that cops are like plane wrecks; you only hear about the bad ones. I’m a civil rights activist, a photographer and a libertarian. I get so frustrated with the erosion of our rights in the post 911 years and the role that so many police are playing in that regard.
You though, I like.
I wish more cops were like you. You seem to be interested in what is wright and wrong, interested in defending the innocent and nailing the criminal. You are what the image of a man with a badge should invoke. Thanks.
I’ve be reading your blog on a regular basis now. And if you are ever in Detroit and need a photographer, drop me a note. I’ll make you look good.
