I concur with some of the commenters on the newspaper site. Could be another Brawley incident. Then do you suppose Sharpton’s remaining devotees will wash their hands of the good reverend. I won’t hold my breath. And if Sharpton doesn’t think that there are people out there that would intentionally injure their own rectums in order to get attention and $$$$ then he is really dreaming!
You know, for some reason I can’t figure out, I kind of like Sharpton. Not what he does or the lies he has. He amuses me. I just kind of like the guy. And I think he fills a predictable role that perhaps somebody should.
That being said–and I can say it because I’ve never been the target of his libel–many people have told me over the years, “Sharpton would never do this if that guy was white!”
Well now he has! Who would have thunk it?
Back in the days, he was only there for a white-on-black crime. Then with Sean Bell for a mixed-race-on-black crime. Now, oh lordy, he’s there for a (supposed) black-on-white crime.
I suppose that really is progress of sorts.
