There was a better article in one of the smaller newspapers. Lying to state investigators about the shooter's firearms training. It was already pretty much that Billy Shane Harrison hadn't done firearms training and therefore was not a peace officer with valid arrest powers under Georgia law due to some digging by the lawyers in the civil suit. When they put that in their lawsuit, the police didn't deny this as strongly as might have been expected. Apparently, this prompted a new state investigation (most likely for the purpose of delaying relevant discovery in the civil case).
Anyway, in the new state investigation, doofus made up a story about Billy Shane Harrison actually getting the training, and it looks like he may have altered some relevant paperwork, too.
The whole thing does show that they are worried about the civil lawyers are going to show what a clownshoes op they had going in Northern Georgia. It looks like the official story is going to be that this is all the administrators fault and that Billy Shane and Chance had no idea that Billy Shane's training in gun use was woefully insufficient.
Personally, I hope the civil lawyers are getting some good discover on Oxner's full history of jumping on moving cars. What you saw in the video was at least the second time he did that stunt, but there are probably more instances in this pattern. That seems closer to the heart of the murder.

What is also interesting about the most recent story is that it implies that Ayers actually was schtupping the woman who was the target of the investigation…

How did the Georgia Bureau of Investigation miss that Harrison wasn't a POST certified officer in their original investigation of the shooting?
Hell, all WSB-TV had to do was ask the head of the state POST, and they got an unequivocal answer.
